Oh Hello, I’m Blessie. The Creatives Coach.
For years, I have helped countless musicians, artists, entertainers and creatives expand their careers and build wealth while getting unstuck, removing self-doubt and burnout.
I’ve spent a decade in events, music and touring, and prior to all that, did my time in a cosy, corporate 9-5. When I quit my 9-5 in 2014, I had this hunger to be a part of something more. More impactful, more purposeful and more meaningful to me. I said to myself –
“I want to be a part of something that contributes light and love into the world. Be it, myself on a stage or as the facilitator of events or shows that ooze wonder, awe and escapism that people can feel connected to.. And I want to inspire the world and show them what is possible for them.” At the time, I didn’t quite know how this affirmation would manifest in reality. But I held on to it tightly.
Being in the music and entertainment industry, I also found myself naturally being an advisor and someone of counsel to so many creatives passing through. Helping people and guiding them through their creative process and careers actually gave me the most fulfilment.
Fast forward to today, where I get to create a life that helps people fulfil their purpose and potential.
Her Story...
Growing up the oldest of three as a first generation Filipino, there was a lot of pressure and expectation placed on me. If I had dreams of being in entertainment or life as a creative, they were suppressed by the reality of my responsibilities and for what others (mainly family or Filipino community) wanted for me. So, I did conform to getting a Business degree and a corporate career for a while, but it felt like there was always something missing within myself. I became restless, unfulfilled and unhappy. I questioned where I was and what I actually wanted to do and be a part of. So I got curious to explore what I knew I always loved.
It takes belief and bravery to trust yourself and your decisions, to take a chance on the unknown path less travelled.
It wasn’t easy. You experience the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Especially at the start when you’re building your creative career. It's when doubt can creep in and make you want to quit. Because, suddenly it's just you with no team to fall back on. For your brand or business you wear all the hats. You’re the promoter, marketer, accounts, sales and admin as well as the creative.
I found myself doing too much, burning myself out because I was attaching my worth to my work. Trying to be everything for everyone, staying relevant, current and available, fearing opportunities would dry up. And all of this while trying to stay inspired and keep a level head? It's enough to get you overwhelmed, anxious, stressed, not growing, feeling like an imposter and questioning if you’re even good enough for this. This left me feeling disconnected to my own self, even though I was immersed in what I loved.
I’ve been there. I’ve felt all the growing pains. But, I’ve also overcome. I always thought to be worthy and successful, I had to get all the qualifications and experience and always be skilling up. I placed unnecessary pressure on myself to have this perfect image. But really, I needed to do the inner work, and commit to my own self- development. Building on inner strength, confidence and self-trust that allowed me to grow through it all to get to this place of harmony and alignment within myself.
I can say with confidence, when you live purposefully, doing what you’re passionate about fulfilling your potential you get to thrive in your zone of genius, you get to create more abundance and create peace within yourself. This is actually the dream.
The one thing I wish I had, especially at the start of my journey, was someone to hold my hand through the process because it can get isolating and lonely. But also because without being conscious of it, I would block my own blessings due to fears or feeling like I was enough. If you’ve ever felt encouraged and guided, then you know it goes a long way when you're in pursuit of your highest self and your truth and your vision.
